Teaser For ‘The First Purge’ Makes America Great Again

You a fan of The Purge franchise?  Personally – I could take it or leave it but- I have to admit that this prequel (of sorts) has got my attention with their first teaser trailer.  Playing heavily off the current political climate – it certainly hits home.

The synopsis lays it all out for your vote:

“Behind every tradition lies a revolution. Next Independence Day, witness the rise of our country’s 12 hours of annual lawlessness. Welcome to the movement that began as a simple experiment: The First Purge.

To push the crime rate below one percent for the rest of the year, the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) test a sociological theory that vents aggression for one night in one isolated community. But when the violence of oppressors meets the rage of the marginalized, the contagion will explode from the trial-city borders and spread across the nation.”

Gerard McMurray directs with Y’Lan Noel, Lex Scott Davis, Joivan Wade, Luna Lauren Velez and Marisa Tomei all attempting to survive the night.

July 4th brings freedom to this one so – do your part – be an American and support The Purge!

‘Midnighters’ Is Heading Our Way In March – And We’ve Got The Trailer To Prove It

The latest from IFC Midnight will be heading our way in a few weeks – titled Midnighters, it looks to be on par with the other spookfests IFC has sent our way of late.  Got a trailer and poster art for you so – lets get into it.

The synopsis:

“Midnight, New Year’s Eve: when all the hopes of new beginnings come to life – except for Lindsey and Jeff Pittman, whose strained marriage faces the ultimate test after they cover up a terrible crime and find themselves entangled in a Hitchcockian web of deceit and madness. From Walking Dead director Julius Ramsay, Midnighters is a layered, enigmatic thriller set in the Gothic backwoods of New England – the perfect place to get away with murder.”

Alex Essoe, Perla Haney-Jardine, Dylan McTee and Ward Horton star with Julius Ramsay handling the directors duties.

March 2nd is when it hits theaters, Bllu-ray and VOD.

The Strangers 2 Gets A Name Change, A Release Date And A Picture

It’s been 10 years since The Strangers originally came calling.  The thought of a sequel after all this time has passed seems odd – how many folks will remember the premise of the shocking home invasion original? How will they tie it all in?  Won’t be much longer till we find out.

First things first – The Strangers 2 is now known as Strangers: Prey At Night – like it any better?

We also have a release date – March 9th, 2018.

It would appear – at least from the sound of the synopsis – that the only retie-in in will be with the killers themselves.  Here’s the official rundown:

“The Strangers 2 follows a family whose road trip takes a turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park and the power goes out. As they hunker down for the night in a borrowed trailer, three familiar masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test their every limit.

We also have our first look from the film, via a still.  I think you may remember one of the two ladies in the pic.

The Bayou Runs Red In The Teaser Trailer For ‘Victor Crowley’

So – last night over at Gruesome Magazine I broke the news that Adam Green shocked the horror world with the roll out of a new chapter in his Hatchet franchise titled Victor Crowley.  Fans showed up for what they thought was a 10 Anniversary showing of the original but instead they were treated to a project that Green and Co. had managed to keep a secret for 2 years.

Well, now the cats out of the bag and Dark Sky Films is gearing up to get this blood bath out to the fans and the first step in that process is  – a teaser trailer.  You ready?

Kane Hodder returns as the beastly Victor Crowley – Parry Shen, Laura Ortiz, Dave Sheridan, Brian Quinn all run away from him.  Here’s your synopsis:

“In 2007, forty-nine people were brutally torn to pieces in Louisiana’s Honey Island Swamp. Over the past decade, lone survivor Andrew Yong’s claims that local legend Victor Crowley was responsible for the horrific massacre have been met with great controversy, but when a twist of fate puts him back at the scene of the tragedy, Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and Yong must face the bloodthirsty ghost from his past.”

Through out the month of October Adam Green will be traveling around the country showing his handiwork to all who dare venture into the theater.  Keep it here for updates on where and when you’ll be able to see Victor Crowley.
