Trailer And Poster Debut For ‘Another WolfCop’

WolfCop manged to make a pretty big splash back in 2014 when director Lowell Dean debuted his odd blend of cop flick, werewolf flick and raunchy comedy but, it struck a note with some and you knew that a sequel was all but guaranteed – well, say hello to Another WolfCop.

The film is actually slated to make it World Premiere later this month at the Fantasia Film Festival – on July 29th actually

Not sure if a synopsis is even required but what the hell – they sent it, might as well use it:

“Alcoholic werewolf cop Lou Garou springs into action when an eccentric businessman with evil intentions seduces Woodhaven’s residents with a new brewery and hockey team in this outrageous horror-comedy sequel.”

Leo Fafard, Amy Matysio, Jonathan Cherry, Laura Abramsen, Yannick Bisson, Jessica Hinkson, and Serena Miller all tag along for the werewolf fun.

Here’s that trailer:

Have to admit – this poster makes me smile!

The Elusive ‘The Poughkeepsie Tapes’ Finally Finds Its Way To Blu-ray

This film has earn a rather legendary place in the annals or horror history for no other reason then the fact that it has never gotten a  proper DVD or Blu-ray release.  I’m talking about The Poughkeepsie Tapes – the film has been in a completed state for a decade yet never seen the light of day.  It was originally slated to be an MGM theatrical release but got pulled by the powers that be.  It did see the light of day briefly in 2014 when DirecTV gave it a whirl but it has never seen a theater or home video release – until now.

Enter Scream Factory – who will be giving the film it just due on Oct. 10th with a Blu-ray / DVD Combo release.

Here’s what they posted via their Facebook page:

“From the filmmakers that brought you Quarantine and As Above, So Below comes a descent into the twisted crimes of a serial killer!

Throughout the 1990s, a serial killer terrorized upstate New York. After a decade-long crime spree conducted largely under the radar of law enforcement, the killer left behind the most disturbing collection of evidence homicide detectives had even seen – hundreds of homemade videotapes that chronicled the stalking, abduction, murder and disposal of his victims.

The Poughkeepsie Tapes examines these horrific tapes at length: what they reveal about the killer, why they were made and how FBI profilers have used them to better understand violent, psychopathic behavior. The Poughkeepsie Tapes combines interviews surrounding the devastating impact of the “Water Street Butcher,” with shocking footage from the tapes themselves.”

The also unleashed the artwork.  Excited to finally be able to have a look at this one.  Oct. 10th – remember the date!

A Trailer Introduces Us To ‘A Beginners Guide To Snuff’

Nothing funnier then a snuff film, right?

Well – The Butcher Brothers are hoping they can find a way to insert a little humor into the whole thing with their new flick A Beginners Guide To Snuff.  So, what the hell is this one all about you ask?  As always – I’ve got you covered.

From the press release:

“The Butcher Brothers – Mitchell Altieri and Phil Flores – have completed their disturbing horror film, A Beginner’s Guide to Snuff. Darkly comedic, the film stars: Joey Kern (Super Troopers, Cabin Fever), Luke Edwards (Jeepers Creepers 2, The Wizard), Bree Williamson (True Detective, Haven), Brad Greenquist (Lone Ranger, Water for Elephants) and many others. The film involves shooting a fake snuff film, to make one woman famous. But, the plan goes off the rails, from the get-go. A preview of A Beginner’s Guide to Snuff and its summer release is hosted here.

The story opens as two brothers, Dresden (Joey Kern) and Dominic (Luke Edwards) enact their scheme. Together, they decide to kidnap Jennifer (Bree Williamson), in the name of infamy and to make the greatest film of all time. The kidnapping quickly goes downhill. Now, the brothers find themselves being hunted by a raging actress, with an arsenal at her disposal.

The Butcher Brothers are best known for their work on vampire thriller The Hamiltons (2006), The Violent Kind (Sundance) in 2010 and they already have their next film finished – The Night Watchmen. Their latest production, A Beginner’s Guide to Snuff, has already won several awards, including: “Best Actor,” “Best Actress,” and “Best Feature Film” at FearNYC. The film opens theatrically in June before Indican Pictures delivers this title, to horror fans, through Video-on-demand and on DVD – this July.”

The film hits VOD and DVD on July 11th!
