I know I can’t be the only fan of old school 80’s gore so fellow gorehounds – this is for you.
A trailer has made its way to the masses for Brad Twigg’s homage to the golden age of bloodshed – Killer Campout – and it runs red, that much is for sure.
Killer Campout features a cameo by the late Herschell Gordon Lewis – also in for some carnage is genre vet John Russo and a really large cast that includes James L. Edwards, Jesse L. Green, Jason Crowe, Brittany Blanton, Bradley Creanzo, Julio Fernandez, Mariana Triantos, Joseph McCaughtry, Nadia White, Luba Hansen, Andie Hall, Andrea Marie, Solon Tsangaras, Chris O’Brocki, Erica Jones, Alex Neumeier, Rick Jermain, Jenny Jannetty, David Phillip Carollo, Lindsay Lockhart, Roger Yawson, Rosanna Nelson, Nicholas Yoder II, Matthew L. Furman and George Stover.
Not that the story really matters much but – here’s your official story breakdown:
“Two youth counselors bring a group of emotionally troubled teens deep into the woods for a weekend of solitude and confrontational therapy. The trip turns deadly when the group is terrorized by a cannibalistic hermit with a thirst for blood.”
Don’t have any firm release info for you yet but I’ll keep an eye and let you know when you can latch onto this one.
Michael Pare – for my generation he was Eddie from Eddie and the Cruisers – personally, I liked him in Streets of Fire as well but for quite a while – he has been largely quiet. That is about to change.
John Fallon – who most of you will likely recognize for horror news site Arrow In The Head directed a film titled The Shelter and he has had it out on the festival circuit for a while now but the time has come to get it into the hands of horror fans everywhere and that issue has been resolved. Uncork’d Entertainment has picked up the rights and is giving the film a small theatrical run but most of us will likely be able to catch it on VOD. Before we get into those details though – let’s have a look at that new trailer – shall we?
If the pretty moving pictures didn’t give you enough of a hint of the storyline of this one – here it is all written out for you:
“Vagrant Thomas Jacob (Michael Paré of “Eddie and the Cruisers” fame) finds shelter for the night when he falls upon a seemingly abandoned two-story home with its lights on and an inviting front door. Once inside, his past comes to haunt him and he soon realizes that he is not alone. There’s a supernatural force on hand and it won’t let him leave. Destiny has brought Thomas to this place but will he survive the ordeal?”
Starring alongside Mr. Pare is Gayle James, Rachel Whittle, Lauren Thomas, Daena Turner, and Amy Wickenheiser.
That theatrical and VOD rollout will be on Nov. 4th and for those of you who wish to own it – well you’re waiting till Jan. 3rd for the DVD rollout.
