Coming at us from indie madman Ron Bonk – nowhere is safe when there is a House Shark on the prowl. As the release draws ever nearer – we have not gotten a redone trailer and some pretty nifty artwork to help seal the deal.
First up – a synopsis to wet the palate.
“You’re gonna need a bigger house! When Frank (Trey Harrison) finds his happy home under attack by a dangerous but largely unknown breed of shark, he’s enlists the aid of the world’s only “House Shark” Expert, Zachary (Michael Merchant), and a grizzled former real estate agent, Abraham (Wes Reid), to embark on a desperate quest to destroy the beast and claim back his life. It’s JAWS in a house! From writer/director Ron Bonk (“She Kills”, “Clay”).”

You a fan of The Purge franchise? Personally – I could take it or leave it but- I have to admit that this prequel (of sorts) has got my attention with their first teaser trailer. Playing heavily off the current political climate – it certainly hits home.
The synopsis lays it all out for your vote:
“Behind every tradition lies a revolution. Next Independence Day, witness the rise of our country’s 12 hours of annual lawlessness. Welcome to the movement that began as a simple experiment: The First Purge.
To push the crime rate below one percent for the rest of the year, the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) test a sociological theory that vents aggression for one night in one isolated community. But when the violence of oppressors meets the rage of the marginalized, the contagion will explode from the trial-city borders and spread across the nation.”
Gerard McMurray directs with Y’Lan Noel, Lex Scott Davis, Joivan Wade, Luna Lauren Velez and Marisa Tomei all attempting to survive the night.
July 4th brings freedom to this one so – do your part – be an American and support The Purge!
The latest from IFC Midnight will be heading our way in a few weeks – titled Midnighters, it looks to be on par with the other spookfests IFC has sent our way of late. Got a trailer and poster art for you so – lets get into it.
“Midnight, New Year’s Eve: when all the hopes of new beginnings come to life – except for Lindsey and Jeff Pittman, whose strained marriage faces the ultimate test after they cover up a terrible crime and find themselves entangled in a Hitchcockian web of deceit and madness. From Walking Dead director Julius Ramsay, Midnighters is a layered, enigmatic thriller set in the Gothic backwoods of New England – the perfect place to get away with murder.”
Alex Essoe, Perla Haney-Jardine, Dylan McTee and Ward Horton star with Julius Ramsay handling the directors duties.
March 2nd is when it hits theaters, Bllu-ray and VOD.
