With only a few days left till the official roll out of ‘SCREAM – The Series’ the folks at MTV have opted to go all in and give us all an advance look at the opening 8 minutes of the series.  As any horror fan knows, SCREAM built a franchise around catchy, powerful opening moments so it only makes sense they would attempt to copy that over to the small screen debut, does it work? Decide for yourself.

Did it work you you?  My two cents – nothing ground breaking but not as bad as I feared it could be.  Definitely made me head into the DVR and schedule the recording of the premiere so I guess it had the affect desired.  Still not liking the reinvented Ghostface mask, why in the hell did they go with the “sex doll” mouth.  Ugh.

The show itself will tell the following tale:

“The series kicks off after a cyberbullying incident results in a brutal murder, with the shocking violence stirring up memories of a killing spree from the past that has haunted some, intrigued others and maybe just inspired a new killer. It centers on a group of new teens — with two old friends struggling to reconnect at its heart — who become lovers, enemies, suspects, targets and victims of a killer who’s out for blood.”

Willa Fitzgerald, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Carlson Young, John Karna, Connor Weil, and Bobby Campo all star.  The show debuts Tuesday June 30th on MTV.
