Some interesting and unexpected news today. Word has come down that what may seem like an unlikely trio of gentlemen have joined forces to bring us a new musical ‘Supergroup’ calling themselves ‘The Hollywood Vampires’. Band mates include Alice Cooper, Joe Perry and Johnny Depp. Interesting, no?
Depp has made no secret of his love for performing music live but he has in the past cast a bit of disdain on those that leave a successful movie career to chase music being quoted saying “That whole idea for me is a sickening thing, it’s always just made me sick. I’ve been very lucky to play on friends’ records and it’s still going” and finishing with “Music is still part of my life. But you won’t be hearing the Johnny Depp Band. That won’t ever exist.”
So, needless to say, a little awkward that he has now gone and formed this “supergroup”, guess it just plays into that adage “never say never”.
‘The Hollywood Vampires” are slated to play the main stage at the ‘Rock In Rio’ festival this fall.
